(Part 1)


This is an abstraction of my physical experience during a visit to the Catacombs of Kom ash-shuqqafaa - a historical archaeological Roman burial site located in Alexandria, a translation of an experience of being in two dimensions at once:

As in one of it’s chambers existed an opening 35 m up the ceiling, which was the only source of light, air and sound to the tombs. Translating the contradiction between the Catacombs and the upper world, through figurative charcoal drawings and sound pieces representing the memory of these two different places.
